Peachy Sky at Marker 5
Watch your depth, the tide is low. The sun is dropping, ushering the light away and giving the water an uninviting darkness, but the seas are calm, breeze so fresh and colors are vivid. Traveling on through Dorchester Bay the sky is bright with a hazy peach colour as the last minutes of sunset pass by giving way to vibrant pre-darkness blue tones. In the early days, sailing into Boston Harbor would have looked much different….

The Legend of Nix’s Mate
Nix’s Mate, by the Narrows and just north of Gallops Island was long known to stand for tragedy and terror now long forgotten by modern society. Until as late as 1835 those accused of piracy and severe crimes at sea were given the ultimate punishment. Sailors were hung on Boston Common in a public spectacle before being thrown back on a boat and taken far from the good people of town to Nix’s Mate.

Stormy Scuba Schooling
Open Water Class with Course Director Fabio on open water dives 1-2 at Calf Island, Boston Harbor Islands with Boston Scuba. Started out a little cloudy and stormy but after having so much fun the sun seemed to want to come out and join in making for a warm sunny second half of the day.
