Dec 27 - West Side Turtle Tug
Written By Greg Lewandowski
We had a blast diving the Shallow Wrecks of Butler Bay and Spanish Anchor on the West Side of St. Croix, December 27, 2023. The water was clear and despite cooling down from the winter trade winds was still a refreshing 82 degrees. We had a little current on the wrecks but were able to witness two baby turtles playing around the tug wreck. They chased each other, swam in circles and snacked on some sea grass. Spanish Anchor had a little better visibility and was alive with invertebrates, schools of fish and many small critters hidden within the reef. All in all another day of living the dream here in the Virgin Islands.
