November 15 - Wrecks at Butler Bay & Spanish Anchor

Today, the certified divers started off the day with a visit to the shipwrecks of Butler Bay, visiting the NOAA observatory, the Virgin Islander barge, and the tug boat North Winds. On our second dive with out intro divers we visited the dive site Spanish Anchor. There was a bit of current in the morning on the wrecks however the stronger currents bring in more pelagic and larger predators and open ocean feeders. We had an Oceanic Trigger fish show up on the tug boat, and a few separate schools of as well as single Crevally Jack cruising over the barge as well as the angelfish and regulars of the reef. On our second dive, the non-certified divers with the discover scuba diving program even got to see a nurse shark, sleeping peacefully below a coral head. We had beautiful sunny weather and a great day on the water, can’t wait to see everyone next time!!
