Fresh Snowfall Forest

It’s been some time since I’ve spent a winter in the cold, far north latitudes of New England. This winter of 2022-23 has been mild; which when in search of snowy scenery and winter wonderlands to photograph, is not ideal. In order to balance out the disappointment, I like to focus on the thought that mother nature was doing me a kindness by not immersing me into the winter major leagues after being accustomed to the likeness of places such as the Caribbean and Hawaii for over a decade. The infrequency of fresh snowfall, good lighting and the right conditions made the “substance” of the days where it was good much more rewarding. On days like these late in winter on a snowy afternoon when the “snowflakes” aligned, I picked my location, packed a few essentials and went for a walk. After almost 3 hours wandering around the forest, sharing company with a duck couple, tracking a wandering deer and taking in the serenity of the forest after a fresh, untouched snowfall I returned with great little collection of photos. Here are some of my favorites of this white winter wonderland.
